Reverse Steel String

Berklee College of Music professor Apostolos Paraskevas, world renown for his compositions and performances including those at Carnegie Hall, commissioned this guitar which I call the “Reverse Crossover.” Apostolos, a classical player, wanted a steel string guitar that felt familiar when held, had tonal warmth, but also projected the power and sustain of a steel string.

The result is this Ramirez sized, double top, composite braced steel string guitar. East Indian rosewood back and sides, bearclaw Sitka spruce ‘double top, cocobolo trim binding, Brazilian rosewood headstock, cocobolo tuning knobs.
